Historical Function The Moon Jar was crafted in Joseon-era Korea as an offering vessel — its imperfect roundness believed to invite warmth, abundance, and good fortune into the home. No two were made alike. 자개 | Jagae — Mother of Pearl For centuries, jagae has adorned the most sacred objects in Korean culture — royal furniture, ceremonial vessels, objects passed between generations. Its iridescent surface was believed to carry three powers: to attract wealth and prosperity, to preserve what matters across time, and to repel negative energy from the home. It was never decorative. It was intentional. What It Brings A full round form. A surface built from light.
